Young Professionals

The Young Professionals is a category of the International Experience Canada (IEC) program. The IEC program is for young adults, from 18 to 25 years old, to come work and travel in Canada.

It is a government program designed to help gain valuable international work experience and improve language skills in English and/or French whilst working in Canada to fund the trip of a lifetime.

The Young Professionals is for you if:

  • You have a job offer in Canada that counts towards your professional development, meaning that the job must be classified under TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3, with some exceptions.
  • You'll work for the same employer in the same location during your stay in Canada.

The type of work permit you get in this category is an Employer-Specific Work Permit.

To participate in this program, your country must have a Youth Mobility Agreement with Canada. Some countries only allow you to participate once, or twice but in different categories.

Because each country is different, it is important to make sure that you are eligible to apply. Book a Visa Consultation today with one of our Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants to find out more about this program and to know if you meet the eligibility criteria.
